My name is Zing SOU, I’m a artist based in Canton. My paintings contain puppetry, fairy tale and big eyes that allude to the familiar anxieties of human society.

In my work, I strive to capture the nuances of this society such as monopolizing control and desires expressing how to be alone with one’s thoughts.

I appropriate fables like Little Red Riding Hood as it was becoming more and more dangerous for her to live in the forest, the Pied Piper of Hamelin who rescued the children from the village failed to keep its promise.

Another fairy tale I’m entranced with is Hansel and Gretel.

I insert the fairy tale’s role into our society, and strive to entice one’s psyche.
